MacRetina
MacRetina is a simulated experiment in neuroscience designed by Intellimation’s Library for the Macintosh. The program simulates an experiment that maps the receptive fields of ganglion cells in a cat retina. It was designed to provide rapid responses that mimic the “look and feel” of a real experiment and to give an accurate representation of the dynamic on-and-off responses of ganglion cells and the center-surround characteristics of their receptive fields. The program replaces static textbook illustrations with interactive stimuli that make the dynamic properties of ganglion cells easier to grasp.
